Corten Water Bowl Garden Feature

Bring the calming effect of water into your garden with the Geneva Corten steel water bowl. Crafted from designers' favourite Corten steel, Geneva boasts rustic good looks and is built to last. Filled with water, Corten steel might look rusty after exposure to the elements, but the rust-coloured coating actually protects the metal within from corrosion. These versatile and elegant bowls make a beautiful focal point on patios, terraces and lawns. Tip: add a few drops of black dye to the water inside your bowl to create an ultra-reflective surface.

Key Features

  • Self-protecting rust finish develops over time.
  • Weather-resistant.
  • Easy to install.
  • Durable and long-lasting
  • Made from high quality Corten steel
  • Dimensions are length x width x height
  • The Corten steel water bowls come in a thickness of 2mm , except the bowls sized 1500mm and above, which are made with 4mm thick steel.
  • Product takes 6-9 months to fully weather from the natural steel colour to orange-brown.
  • Warning: During the weathering period, run-off can stain adjacent material. Please bear this in mind when positioning your water bowl.
  • We suggest using a neutralising water supplement if your water does not have a neutral PH level. This is to make sure the weathering process is not affected and to stop residue from appearing. We suggest checking the PH Levels of your water often, to make sure the look of the bowl and weathering process are both unaffected.
  • It is not recommended to put fish or live animals in the bowl, as the steel reacts with the water and turns it slightly acidic over time.
  • Please Note: Does not come with a stand, however there is an attached ‘foot’, which is a ring of steel welded to the underside of the bowl

Corten Steel weathering – how it works:

  1. Please Note: Corten products can arrive at any stage of weathering. We cannot guarantee what level they will be or even if multiple items ordered at the same time will all be at the same level.
  2. As your Corten Steel bowl begin to weather, the oily residue will break down.
  3. Your bowl will begin to change gradually to uniform orange-brown. Please be aware that ‘run-off’ may stain stone or concrete surfaces and bear this in mind when deciding where to place your stairs.

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=""]Special offer - 30% discount on all 5mm thickness variants! If you're looking for a cheaper alternative to Corten steel, weathering steel could be perfect for your project. Weathering steel possesses the same great properties as Corten steel, but as it doesn't carry the brand name, it costs less. Just like Corten, weathering steel starts out blue-grey in colour and weathers to a rust-coloured finish. The orange patina protects the metal from corrosion and takes 6-9 months to develop. Please note: these sheets will arrive in their natural form, ready to weather over a period of 6-9 months. If you need your steel to arrive with the orange coating already in place, see our pre-weathered Corten steel. When weathering steel is exposed to the elements, it reacts with oxygen and moisture in the atmosphere, a process called oxidisation. When oxidisation occurs, the metal develops a distinctive orange coating, known as a patina. This exterior coating protects the internal steel. While the auburn-hue might look like rust, it doesn't penetrate the steel, meaning the metal does not weaken or depreciate. With its good looks and lasting durability, weathering steel is a big hit with designers. Weathering steel is a more affordable choice than Corten steel for a broad range of projects, including landscaping, art and architecture We supply weathering steel panels in a huge variety of thicknesses and sizes and we can cut it to custom sizes, so you can just order what you need. ⚠️ Important Note on 5mm & 6mm Weathering Steel Sheets For 5mm & 6mm sheets, we are unable to cut these using our onsite guillotines due to the material’s strength. Instead, they must be laser cut, which requires a 10mm border around the edges. Because of this, offcuts are not always possible. Please bear this in mind when requesting custom sizes. How it’s made: Weathering steel is an alloy; the addition of nickel, copper and chromium at production means that as the steel is exposed to the elements it develops its protective patina. Good for: External cladding, marine projects, architecture, water features, outdoor planters, sculptures, design features, signage. Benefits:
  • Durable
  • Low maintenance
  • Weather-resistant
  • Visually pleasing
What our customers say about us: “Quick service, accurate cutting, reasonable price and delivery. They had exactly what I wanted, and it arrived on time, in good condition.” AAnderson, Trustpilot March 2017  [/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
