The T-shaped feature means you can easily connect panels at right-angles, making corners easy. When sunk into concrete, the serrated edges will grip, ensuring stability once the concrete has set. Corten Steel weathering – how it works:
  1. Please Note: Corten products can arrive at any stage of weathering. We cannot guarantee what level they will be or even if multiple items ordered at the same time will all be at the same level. Unweathered areas of your posts will be the colour of freshly manufactured steel, with a dark oily coating.
  2. As your Corten Steel posts begin to weather, the oily residue will break down.
  3. Your posts will begin to change gradually to uniform orange-brown. Please be aware that ‘run-off’ may stain stone or concrete surfaces and bear this in mind when deciding where to place your posts.
  4. After 9 months, your posts should be almost entirely rust-coloured. Please be aware that run-off may still occur for several months after the uniform rust colour has been achieved.

Our new Corten Fold Over Pegs are available in 200mm x 75mm x 2mm, 300mm x 75mm x 2mm, and 580mm x 75mm x 2mm (length x width x gauge) We would recommend using the 200mm pegs for our 100mm edging, the 300mm for our 150mm edging, and the 580mm for our 290mm edging. The great thing about these new pegs, is that they eliminate the need for welding/bolting that our original pegs require, meaning you can have beautiful borders in minutes! They can also join together two strips, also eliminating the need for welding/bolting or joining plates. Simply slot the peg onto your edging strip and fix it into the ground. These pegs will rust alongside the edging, giving a uniform look throughout. It couldn’t be easier! Please note lead time may be up to 10 working days depending on stock.

  When your product arrives it will depending, on when it was manufactured will be the colour of freshly manufactured steel, with a dark oily coating or in a stage of patina. As your Corten Steel planter begins to weather, the oily residue will break down. Your product will begin to change colour, during this stage – the ‘run-off’ may stain stone or concrete surfaces that it comes into contact with. After 9 months, some ‘run-off’ may still occur. Corten Steel (or weathering steel) is an alloy that naturally forms a rust coating the over the first 9 months or so of it being exposed to the weather. Interestingly, due to the composition of this special alloy, this rust coating forms a protective layer that prevents further rusting. The steel underneath remains unimpaired as the outer layer continues to protect and regenerate as it exposed to water and oxygen.
