Corten Steel Low Cylinder Garden Planter

Transform your outdoor space with the effortlessly stylish Brindisi planter. Fabricated using designers' favourite Corten steel, this circular planter looks good and lasts years. When Corten steel is exposed to the elements, it gradually changes from blue-grey in colour to a rich, rustic patina finish. The new outer layer protects the steel inside from corrosion, whilst adding texture and interest to your garden. Brindisi is available in a choice of sizes ready for you to fill with herbs or bedding plants. Install one large Brindisi as a stunning outdoor focal point, or make it part of a set for an impressive botanical display.

 Key features

  • Self-protecting rust finish develops over time
  • Products have small feet, lifting the planter and preventing direct contact with the flooring material during the weathering process.
  • Weather resistant
  • Durable and long-lasting
  • Drainage holes included
  • Made from high-quality Corten Steel
  • Dimensions shown are width x height
  • Warning: During the weathering period (6-9 months), run-off may stain adjacent materials

Corten Steel weathering – how it works:

  1. Please Note: Corten products can arrive at any stage of weathering. We cannot guarantee what level they will be or even if multiple items ordered at the same time will all be at the same level. Unweathered areas of your stairs will be the colour of freshly manufactured steel, with a dark oily coating.
  2. As your Corten Steel stairs begin to weather, the oily residue will break down.
  3. Your stairs will begin to change gradually to uniform orange-brown. Please be aware that ‘run-off’ may stain stone or concrete surfaces and bear this in mind when deciding where to place your stairs.
  4. After 9 months, your stairs should be almost entirely rust-coloured. Please be aware that run-off may still occur for several months after the uniform rust colour has been achieved.

What is Brushed Brass? Brass Without Brassiness We take our iconic, golden-coloured basis brass and add a brushed finish to take away the shine. Perfect for contemporary interiors, where matte is a must, this duller surface makes for a striking focal point in the home. Our customers have used their brushed brass sheets to create stunning splashbacks, wall coverings and more. And it's not just good looks that this one has got going for it: the brushed texture makes it less likely to attract fingerprints and other marks, so it's easier to maintain, too. Before we send you your brushed brass, we add a crystalline wax to lock in the finish and protect it for years to come. Even before brushing, our sheet brass (also known as CZ108 or basis brass) is an excellent metal for use in interior design. As well as its timeless golden hue, this alloy of zinc and copper is a brilliant all-rounder: it's easy to engrave and work whether cold or hot, and possesses a high tensile strength. As with all our products, we offer a free cutting service on our brushed basis brass, plus there's no minimum order. So, if you're looking for a stylish sheet metal to use in your home, we can help, no matter how big or small the project. Good for: Interior design, splashbacks, kitchens, bathrooms, focal points, wall coverings, signage, art. How it’s made: Zinc and copper are melted down and mixed together with the aid of a red-hot furnace. For our CZ108 sheets, we use a high concentration of 37% zinc, which makes the finished product more workable and versatile. The mix is poured into moulds to cool into solid blocks called cakes. When they're cool enough, the cakes are put through rolling machines to transform them into flat sheets. Each sheet is 'scalped', a process that involves the removal of the oxidised outer layer. In many cases, the basis brass is reheated and / or cold-rolled, until it reaches the desired thickness and strength. We then brush the CZ108 to remove any shine and create that matte look, before sealing it all in with crystalline wax Benefits: Bright golden colour Contemporary matte finish Workable (hot and cold) Strong and long-lasting Random fact: You're probably closer to the nearest piece of brass than you think, given the fact that this metal is used for hundreds of everyday household items. Zips, buttons, keys, plug pins, door handles, letterboxes, watches and clocks all utilise brass. Please visit the Halman THompson website for more informtion.

What is Brushed Copper? A Vibrant and Matte Interior Finish Metal doesn't always have to be smooth and gleaming, as our specialist brushed copper sheets prove. If you shy away from the shiny and prefer your metal more muted, these hand-rendered sheets could be just what you're looking for. Not only do they attract fewer fingerprints and are therefore far easier to maintain than shinier metals, they look good too. The textured finish is duller than our regular copper sheets, making these sheets the perfect choice for those seeking a less polished (but still stylish) surface. We seal the brushed sheets with a crystalline wax to preserve the finish for years to come. It's up to you how you use your brushed copper, but our customers particularly love to include this rich, distinctive metal in kitchens and bathrooms for features such as splashbacks and wall coverings. The unique, vibrant colour of copper brings warmth and a vintage aesthetic to any room, whilst the brushed finish gives it a contemporary (and easy to care for) edge. At Buy Metal Online, we're proud of our free cutting service, which allows you to order exactly the amount of sheet metal you need. Plus there’s no minimum order, so we can supply you with as much or as little brushed copper as you need. Good for: Interior design, counter-tops, splashbacks, wall coverings, bar-tops, panels, art features and more. How it's made: Copper ore-containing minerals are mined from the ground before undergoing extensive treatment to extract the metal. First, the rocks are milled to remove any excess, non-copper materials. but the resulting product still contains other elements such as sulphur and iron. In order to remove these, a process called smelting, involving two very hot furnaces, needs to take place. The result is the 'copper blister', which contains 99% pure copper, and still needs to be further refined,. After another furnace and an electrorefining process, the pure copper is cast into ingots or rods. In order to create sheet copper, these bulkier pieces are rolled out until they're flat. Finally, we hand-brush the surface of the metal to give it that matte finish, then seal the deal with a layer of protective crystalline wax. Benefits: Easy to maintain Striking colour Contemporary matte finish Malleable and versatile What our customers say about us: “Great service, and if you have a query they just ring and you even get a named person to talk to at the other end, how rare is that?!” - Gordon R, Trustpilot review, August 2020. Random fact: Copper was the first metal to be worked and utilised by human beings, with the first use being approximately 10,000 years ago. A copper pendant found in Iraq was estimated to be from around 8700BC. For many thousands of years, human beings believed that copper was the only metal; this and its malleability meant it was used for all kinds of purposes, from art and jewellery through to weapons. Looking for a show-stopping centrepiece for your garden? Look no further than Caicos, a contemporary Corten steel fire table that's bound to wow (and warm) your guests. Crafted from high-quality Corten steel, Caicos is truly built to last. If you're unfamiliar with Corten, it's a huge hit with garden designers and here's why: that vivid, rust-coloured coating on the outer edges of the metal gradually develops when it comes into contact with moisture. As well as offering industrial good looks, this unique coating protects the steel inside, preventing it from corrosion. Caicos really is as practical as it is dramatic! Gather round to toast marshmallows, have drinks, or just extend those long evenings spent in the great outdoors. Thanks to its fiery orange exterior, once aged, Caicos looks just as good in daylight as it does with a fire lit in its centre at night.
