A great deal of planters have in the past been manufactured from lead, which is not suitable for modern manufacture. Not only is it impractically heavy (even without being filled with soil) but it is toxic. Weight is similarly a problem with stone, and stone (and terracotta for that matter) is far more likely to crack at the first sign of frost. In the past, the downside of fibreglass was that it was hard to replicate the aesthetic appearance of these traditional materials without the result looking like a fixture of a tacky theme park. However, developments in fibreglass manufacturing now allow us to manufacture imitation items that are in all ways indistinguishable from the items they are imitating – without lifting or otherwise subjecting them to a rigorous physical examination. In addition to being lightweight, they are also resistant to ultraviolet light (preventing bleaching) and far less likely to suffer the adverse effects of tempestuous weather than their counterparts. It is for this reason, that it is in many ways a smart material, that the majority of our products by some margin are made from fibreglass.

It would be completely feasible to create microcosmic columns of bamboo forest in a corporate space – changing the way its inhabitants things. This would be a bad way to promote privacy and tranquility in what might otherwise be a hectic and high pressure environment.
