By cutting a triangular shark's tooth pattern into the metal, we've made installation simple – all you have to do is sink the points into the ground and you're good to go. Available in a wide range of heights and lengths, our versatile spiked lawn edging will arrive to you in its natural state, with weathering causing the orange colour to develop within 8-10 months. That distinct coppery hue might look rusty, but the colour's actually down to an oxidisation process that protects the core from further corrosion. How it's made:  Corten steel is an alloy, which is why it is so weatherproof. The addition of chromium, nickel and copper to the steel means that as it ages, this metal develops a protective outer layer (that's the rust-coloured coating).
